The stings or bites from insects or infections from bacteria can also cause the eye swelling. The other reasons may be the viruses, or fungi that can also cause the eyelids to swell. There can be some other symptoms of eye swelling which can only be diagnosed by the doctor.

What should do at the time of the eye swelling: normally at the time of swelling the ice is applied to the effected part, you can also apply the ice on the eyes. But as the eyes are very sensitive and anything related to the eyes is very serious matter, than it is advisable to see your doctor as the doctor's advice can be useful and he can diagnose that whether the swelling is not because of any other internal injury to the eyes. The doctor can advice some advice for the eyes that can be useful. Normally it takes two to three days to the swollen eyes to be cured but it can take time in special cases.
