Swollen lymph nodeLymph nodes which are also called nodes are a part of your lymphatic system. The lymphatic system is one of your body's barriers to infection and plays a role in the resistant responses. If the lymph nodes become swollen, it may be because of the infection in the glands. There are many groups of lymph nodes and it exists in whole body. But the glands which are most commonly enlarged or swollen are in
the neck, under the chin and in the groin.
The reasons of the swollen lymph node:
The main causes of the lymph nodes swelling can be the infection in the lymph node. The swelling normally results from infection, inflammatory conditions, an abscess or cancer. Other causes of enlarged lymph nodes are very rare. The most common reason of lymph node swelling is infection. Some other mechanisms that can cause the lymph node swelling are the increased number of lymphocytes locally as a response to foreign substance like antigen during an infection and the infiltration with inflammatory cells during infection or inflammation in a region of a given lymph node and the Infiltration with malignant cells to the gland with the lymph.
The treatment for swollen lymph nodes:
The treatment of the swollen lymph node mainly depends on the cause. Every cause of the swelling has the different outlooks and treatments. For example, the common cause of the lymph infection is the viral infection, it can be treated with the normal treatment but hen the swelling is caused by the cancer or leukemia than it has to be treated by the specialist and with the help of the radioactive particles.
What to do if you find swollen lymph nodes:
You can try healing the lymph node swelling at home but it is not advisable as, the lymph node swelling is a very serious matter. If the swelling continues for several days, it can be the indication of the cancer or a tumor. If there is no evident reason of the swelling, than you should consult your doctor and he will prescribe the right mode of treatment.
