The Swollen JawThe cause
The Actinymycosis is the popular name of the swollen jaw defect. The jawbone is composed of two bones wherein the lower jaw is the only bone in the human skull. The proximal and the distal ends of the bone are joint to the temporal and the mandibular bone. The lower part of the jaw, which is, inserted in another bone forms certain appendages, which are grooves -like, and called the Condyles the jaw is protected from sudden
injury with the help of a disc called protection disc. The disc is aptly known as the TMJ (Temporal Mandibular Jaw). The jaw serves with the function of protecting while yawning and while chewing gum.
Other Defects
The other related defects that could be caused because of the malfunctioning of the jaw are as follows; broken jaw, dislocated jaw, abscess of the jaw, facial fracture, locked jaw, which is common name for the tetanus, bruised jaw, bleeding jaw. These could be one of the most painful defects because mouth is the organ, which is constantly under work and the defect in the dentition, also hinders the process of mastication. This is one of the severest outward appearance of oral cancer too because no less than one-person dies every hour owed to oral cancer. The National Institute of Dental Craniofacial Research (NIDCR) declares that at least fifteen percent (15%) people who are locked in the jaws of death due to the jaw cancers. There is also Hodgkin's disease. This is public well-being menace
Symptoms are;
Slight numbness in the surfaces of the tongue, hurting of the ear, pain while swallowing and while masticating, ulcers, swellings, sometimes damage to the dental tissue, change in the vocal tone or one's speech, throat pain, there are certain sarcomatic tumors also. The incubation period normally varies from time to time. Thus the survival chances are only four to five years. Thus only fifty percent of the genre survives. Thus the prevention is better then the cure.

Otolaryngologist check -ups, Computerized tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), regulars X-ray check -ups, stringent rules to curb the tobacco consumptions.
